In an uncanny turn of events, the leader of Iran is threatening Donald Trump for the killing of General Qasem Soleimani, a top military commander of Iran.
The photomontage on the official website of the supreme Iranian leader’s website showcases the ex-United States president casually playing gold whilst a shadow of a warplane is seen casting on him.
The website captioned the image as “vengeance is definite”. Due to the violent nature of this, Twitter’s policy commands them to remove such content as it was posted by a user on the social media website.
According to a spokesperson from Twitter, it was found that the account “@khamenei_site that posted this was deemed to be fake and spam, therefore, was removed. But, the post was retweeted by the Farsi Twitter account of Ayatollah Khamenei, but now it has been removed.
The Tweet was written all in Farsi, and it had the word “vengeance” in it, and also said that the murdered of Suleimani will pay for it. On the official website of Ayatollah Khomeini, it is written in a clear image as caption that the vengeance will be taken, furthermore, he vowed to take revenge at any time. Recently Twitter has had their hands full as they removed Donald Trump’s account permanently from the website because his tweets were deemed responsible for the violence that happened at the United States’ Capitol on January 6th, which left 6 people dead.
Many users have called for a ban of the account, as they seem it is inhumane that someone can publicly say they want to kill someone, especially the ex-President of the United States. This needs to be rectified by Twitter as soon as possible, because such platforms should not incite any hate, especially on such level.
