According to a recent report, more than hundred accounts that are linked with the community of OGUsers are getting disabled.
Instagram has decided to disable more than a hundred accounts that have hacked into unique and rare usernames which then sell it for different prices, this has been reported by the company recently. Other than Instagram, TikTok as well as Twitter have done the same thing, they have blocked such hacking accounts that steal unique and rare usernames from people.
Instagram has directed its main focus on the OGUsers, a website that is famous for stealing the usernames of different users. The website uses the method of SIM swapping to get into the accounts of different users. They hack into the social media accounts and change passwords, then they change the usernames and get them to sell them.
Instagram said that they will remove the accounts that are linked to the OGUsers, because these accounts harass and harm the users of Instagram, they steal their usernames and cause much violence and fear among the Instagram community. Instagram further said that it will do all that it can to make sure they do not make any profit from other people’s Instagram accounts.
Earlier this week, Instagram bought in a new feature that would let people retrieve their deleted content, this was also done to make sure the hackers don’t delete posts, videos, and pictures etc. of Instagram users. Usually, hackers hack in and delete the entire account but now they won’t be able to do it due to this feature as it requires phone number verification or email verification before one can delete anything from the account at all. Therefore, Instagram will make sure OGUsers won’t be doing this anymore.
